This summer, go visit the many writers’ homes cared for by the National Trust and while you are there, book a cottage with literary connections

A lost language, fantastic beasts, and celestial bodies are just some of the things you will find in the books of Blickling. From now until October 27, 2019, visitors to Blickling in Norfolk can experience some of the most intriguing titles in the collection as part of an exhibit, The Edge of Things.

Amongst the collection of books at Blickling, one in particular has a fascinating connection to the New England of the Puritans. The book is commonly known as the “Eliot Indian Bible,” and was the first bible printed in English in North America. However, it was not printed in English; it was printed in Algonquin.
