Enjoy a morning tour through the National Trust’s 17th century hidden London gem, Fenton House, a townhouse tucked away in Hampstead. We will be joined by the Trust’s Furniture Research Curator, Dr. Wolf Burchard. Fenton’s gardeners will also lead us through the home’s 300 year old urban landscape.
Following Fenton, a private coach will take us to the estate of the Marquess and Marchioness of Salisbury to spend the afternoon at their Jacobean palace, Hatfield House. After lunch and a private tour of the gardens, we will have the rare opportunity to view the family’s archives. This archival tour will be led by art historian, James McDonaugh who many of you will remember from Royal Oak’s garden tours, curated by his company Art Tours Ltd. We will end the day with a champagne toast before heading back to London.
Patron and Guardian members are also invited to a dinner at Home House in London on Thursday, September 8 where will be joined by special guests. This Georgian townhouse is located in the elegant Portman Square and embodies the original splendor of architect Robert Adam’s vision for this ‘Pleasure Palace.’
