MUSSENDEN TEMPLE

Located high above the Atlantic Ocean, Mussenden Temple has crowned the Ulster Cliffs in County Londonderry since 1785. It is part of the estate of Frederick Augustus Hervey, Bishop of Derry, 4th Earl of Bristol. The Bishop's interest in circular buildings can also be enjoyed in a visit to Ickworth in Surrey.

The grounds encompassing Mussenden Temple, and its manor house (Downhill Castle) are open to the public all year, dawn to dusk. The temple itself is open on certain days (see NT handbook for details.)

Admission to the grounds is free.
